I mean, unless you are there a whole lot, and I think that i am there at least twice a week for some meeting or other.. you get so lost. And i've been here for four years now. I mean, the names of the rooms are pretty... the violet room, the capitol room, the sandburg lounge.. but what do they tell you? They are not error tollerant because I usually have to do at least one lap around the place to find where I am going.. in very uncomftorable shoes too!! It is not really effective because the names of the rooms give no hint as to the right floor.. and effiecient the system is not because like I said... walking walking walking... in uncomfy shoes... It is engaging because finding where I am suppsoed to be gets all of my attention for a short time... and if one goes enough it is easy to pick up on MAYBE.. i mean, everyone knows the grand ballroom.. but... can anyone tell me where the chicago room is??? so annoying....

Literacy: Who knew there was so much to say?

Okay, so I am feeling pretty bad about my liteacy project because I can't figure out how to make more than one page, actually the only reason I have the page I have is dilger made it for me. So... no cool switching between places, and I couldn't figure out how to make those lil dashed boxes around parts, so my quotations just blend in... I am wiki illiterate... BUT i forget if the new project is supposed to be due tomorrow too? I can't figure out how to make a new page.... so i am typing my idae for the project on this thing.. then I think I will have more time, and hopefully some sort of devine intervention will help me figure out the logistics of it all once I am at home over break. So here goes... I want to stake claim on a title related to like.. who owns the web? but not owns it rather.. who can control it.. like censorship!!! YEAH! Thats it exactly.. I want to do internet or web or something censorship.. not ONLY ... age ratings and pornography, but censorship like... umm.. how sometimes we can't get to a linked reading because of the password stuff. I want to focus on who polices the web, any rules regarding censorship and the such, and maybe go from there... I don't think anyone reads these anymore.. but hopefully no one will steal my idea before I can figure out how to put it on that damn wiki... it took me like FOREVER just to figure out why there was a table of contents... I thought that was divine intervention till i figured that it must be like automatic or something... I suck at life right now...

About usability and the wiki.... I think I am probably the only one but i find it hard to use...

I also agree about the ipod blog. They are a pain in the ass, as is media player when the songs aren't exactly by the name of the song, it's so annoying when it puts the track number of the song from the cd first... I don't care what number it is on the cd.. I illegally dowload songs so that i don't have to have the whole cd!!

Homesickness: I'm drowning in it

I feel so bad saying this, but I am going to be soo happy when this semster is over. And it almost is. The 18 hours have burnt me out so bad!! Next semester it's 19!! Yikes. I liked the library guys presentation. Sorta summed up everything we have covered. Well, a lot of it anyways, accessibility, literacy, writing for your audience... ect ect. Put it into perspective really when you consider that he has to think about all the stuff we've been talking about all semester on a daily basis.Very nice guy. Will make sure i find him next time i need the assistance of a librarian. Although I can't see getting a DOUBLE MASTERS just to work in a place where I can't talk loud.. I am a loud person, love to talk... would hate it... Will be glad when this week is over. I am excited to see Dilger back in class tomorrow.. haven't read the readings yet, just about to start though.

I love turkey, and pumpkin pie... I can't think about anything this week but going home on friday. My evil evil IM320 proffessor is making our HUGE project due at the END of the class priod on Friday and we can't turn it in early. I understand how much she wants us to be prepared for the harsh real cut throat world of "business" but I was wishing I could get home before my parents get off on friday because my lil brother leaves for the whole week that I'm home to go with his mom for the holiday... he's an annoying little twurp, but I miss him when I am here. He's only 10 so there is a big age difference but once hes my age it will be nice having a sibling so much older I think. I wish I had one now that graduation is approaching. The harsh reality that i might end back up in my room at my parents house stings just a little. I am really wanting to find something in social work, but I am an english major, and I don't want to do grad school at least for a while..My parents think they could get me on at the sangomon county department of child and family services. I would love that if only it weren't sangamon county (living at home again). My parents think it would make me go crazy, literally, seeing all that horrible stuff, but I have always wanted to do something along those lines. When I came to college I wanted to be a divorce and child custody lawyer to help out kids like my little brother... then i realized that law school was probably out of my reach, so now i think maybe the dcfs thing could work, for a little while. I still don't really know what I want to be when I grow up.... I just need a job really. I am scared...

I am still trying to figure out a project topic for this next project, wish we could turn in the draft over break... I am thinking something about community?? or... I dunno... my brain is stuck in sweet potatoe mode. I am revising my first project, think that it will be done on word tonight so i can put it on my wiki page before class tomorrow. In no way similar to draft... leaning more towords the role of metaphors as tool for literacy in technology... really incorporates other topics as well (accessibility, lawsuits, style)... but really, all i can think about is home.. and my kitten, and decorating the x-mas tree.. and my mom... ah... this is the worst amount of home sickness i've had since i came to college... I am so ready for graduation, even if it means moving back home.. this place is starting to make me nuts... and sad... If I stay here much longer i'll have no choice but to turn to booze

Is anyone else reading, or has read, Mr. Timothy?? I was so into it sat night i didnt want to go out, but was forced by evil book hating boyfriend (just kidding, sorta.. he doesn't like reading... but he isn't the type really to force, just to nudge).... o well, turned out fine night despite the rain (really did damadge to hair, if you saw me i'm sorry.. it was painful I know... damn humidity) and my good friends birthday beer tears... college boys can be evil... and the book will be there next time i get a free minute.

I hate the WIKI, and I need coffee

Okay, so par for the course I have waited till the last possible hours to do a project that should have been started a long long time ago. I managed to find 5 hours tonight to devote to the formatting of all the info i found so far, only it doesn't look like it, but I closed it twice without saving, i get the preview and save buttons confused... I hate the wiki .. actually, I am just happy that I got something done. I know it need A WHOLE LOT of tweaking and elaborating, but now that it's up there that part should be easy. It is now 2 a.m. and I have a HUGE test in another class that I need to start studying for. I love being busy because it keeps me from getting blue, which I have a tendency to do from time to time, esspecially in the winter... but this amount of busy is a bit much. O, and needless to say I might not be able to comprehend the readings for tomorrow even if I get a chance tonight to look over them. Am very tired.

Had a lovely lunch with my newest AST kiddo this weekend, and went to an amazing housewarming/engagment party in my home town. Had an activity tonight at the house that reminded me how much I love being a TAU. I don't know what I would do without the solidity in my life, but at the same time I am getting antsy to join the "real world" which means leaving my "anchors". Will be very sad, but don't have to think about it til next semester, and since I like to procrastinate, shouldn't be any problem putting it off til then. New Members will be initiated this week, cannot wait, only get a couple of hours of sleep tonight as have to start day at 7 a.m. tomorrow... But at least i'm not blue. to busy to be blue....

Hope everyone's projects are coming along amazingly.

My roomates dog is here for the night, smells like rotten cheese and dirt... very gross... thank god for tau house computer lab and wireless internet... no rotten cheese smell here, just the smell of laundry from across the hall.... need coffee.... off to study for my 12 er... can't wait to come to class unprepared tomorrow... currently mad at myself.. off to be more productive.. or fall alseep trying... i love coffee... but not at 230 am

Art for arts sake and room for commercialism

Okay, so, truth be told I haven't gotten to read the whole of the article because I haven't gotten my hands on a copy of my own yet, but thank you Trisha for letting me peak at yours. BUT I was in class on friday and I kept thinking the whole time about theory, and how artisotle or plato or one of those dead guys that Iwaniki goes on and on about is relevant here!! I never thought I would admit that something I heard in that class was relevant to the real world, but it's like.. the more i learn, esspecially this semester, the more all my classes start to like.. enter-lock... it's kinda weird.. BUT.. Why do we have to find meaning in EVERYTHING.. one of the texts I recently wrote a paper on said, this is my haphazzard way of quoting because I forget all the important stuff like author, that trying to overlay meaning onto anything.. literature, movies, art.. is a sign of displeasure with the actual thing itself, like, we for some reason can't just take things for what they ARE so we have to dig out some kinda meaning that may or may not be what the author/painter/producer intended. It kinda makes me sad. But if we didn't do that what would advertising people do with thier time? And how could we close read things for classes like Banash's? Still, I think there is something to the notion of being skeptical about how we symbolize everything, of find symbols in everything. It's like that secret decoder ring prof Allison talks about.. Damn, they are all enter weaving...

Also, our discussion about the italianicity thing reminded me of a documentary i watched in another class this semester, see they ARE ALL dovetailing, about Italian men (memees or something like that) in italy who are in thier like 40's, rich, successful and living at home with thier parents until they are married despite the fact that they own HUGE LOVELY homes of thier own. Anyway, one of the "experts" on the issue was an italian sociologist and he took aim at american's saying it's our image, the lone ranger, out on the prarie with only his horse and pistol by his side that makes us all want to move out of the house and live alone. That is funny becaues we don't see ourselves as cowboy like, but many europeans have that picture in thier head about all americans. Just as we see (or I see) the sopranos as the image of all italians. So, if we wanted to make an ad for beans and cornbread in the same style as that pasta ad and market it to italians we could use red and blue and a few picutes of cowboys over campfires. We wouldn't get it, but they would. It's so bizarra how we have such stereotyped images already in our head that like, subliminally control us. I think its weird to be over 20 and sleeping in a twin bed that your mom makes every morning. It also makes sense with this image thing about the third reich stuff that Iwaniki gave us. Images are So powerful because they are so sublinimal. We are persuaded and pushed and pulled by them everyday, but we don't notice it really. It all comes together. But I would become a wacko if I walked around constantly trying to find the hidden meaning in everyhting, they call those people paranoid schizophrenic I think and remind me of the movie Conspiracy Theory. Now I am just blabbering...

I guess I should talk about images in terms of computers since this is eng 480, but that seems assinine because techonology produces so many of the images that we see today.. even photographs are digitally touched up. The only thing that isn't i guess is "fine art", maybe that's how you can tell the difference (see my reply in Trish's post). So why try to isolate only computer images, thats was a dumb idea...

I guess the connection with theory and the image topic is that they are both so multi-faceted. I don't think this post makes any sense. I know what I am thinking, but can't articulate it right now. My day has been long and I want to end it soon. See you all tomorrow in class I hope....

October 30th, 2005

Couldn't get one of the links to open again. I really don't know what to say about images. I mean, I have always thought that being blin would be the worst of all handicaps because I so love how the world looks, but past that.... images... essential. Thats all i have to say. It was interesting in the web style guide to read about the technicalities involved in producing an image on a screen, the dithering stuff and pixels...

I hate the weather today! I am happy that we get an extra hour today, but I am opposed to the time change thing because I think it getting dark so soon is sad. Also I have heard that it causes depression in people with 9-5 s because they go to work in the dark and come home in the dark and they don't get that outside daylight time. If I ever get a job, it's looking bleak, I plan to pay attention to whether or not I am depressed by the lack of sunlight in my life.... and then write to my congressman about it. Or maybe not the writing part, but i'll make a mental note of it thats for sure!!

Congratulations Mr. Dilger!! I do not have anything to say about the nest topic as I just printed it out to read it now. BUT does anyone think that the wikipedia definitions are a bit hard ot follow. I mean, they seem dense for a definition, but I might be just too shallow... or dumb... whichever. ....

BUSY BUSY WEEK... for my IM class, the one with the mean teacher I loath, we are starting group projects and we have the option of firing our members if they don't hold up thier end.... it was the first day and i think mine want to fire me... the stupid rule is we HAVE to meet out of class, which i understand, but that all 5 of us must be there... the problem is that it seems no one in my group has anything going on in their lives besides me.... I have the busiest week due to tau challenge of the fraternities... and then next week is a BIG week for our new members... and not until they are initiated will activites start to die down..... I literally have one or two things to do extra-curricularly speaking a night... approx four hours.. during like.. peak get together time.. and I have 18 hours worth of classes a week to go to... there was no time I could meet with them this week where we could all be there and now they hate me... i can feel it... and the whole time stupid professor lady was eaves dropping and I KNOW she was thinking I am not taking her assignment seriously. She hates me already... my life this semester completely sucks...

on another note... been looking up stuff for literacy... thinking i want to do something not with literacy technology.. like the pixels article but from the how does writing visa typing effect our literacy... it is my view that it can help with literacy.. but hopefully i can find something exciting regarding this.. or i might change focus...

p.s. did anyone see the speaker in the union tonight.. the ex-neo nazi... i have some comments about that if anyone else saw it.. if not then i wont bore you any longer..

A thought or two

I think that the most important component of copyright stuff is ultimately whether or not it effects me. I mean, it does, when i download music. BUT, i am not creating anything amazing on my blog, or anywhere else that I feel an overwhelming need to protect. If i borrow anything from the internet I am acustommed to citing it using mla. Problem solved. I mean, as far as my daily life goes, this copyright thing... it is soo complicated that unless you need ot know, why bother knowing? Thats why all those coroporate attorneys make so much money.. .they know this stuff right?

What is there more to know? Everything. THis is such a complex topic. As is the law in general. ALso, if you have enough money oyu can fight it until it doesn't really matter anymore I guess... as with the walmart talk in class. SO... again. its just so complicated... and so is life.

my abstract: 2nd attempt, a week late, i feel illiterate

Okay, So.. I have so much to blogg about I think it will require two or more. BUT, the most important thing for me to do now is claim a topic by making an acceptable abstract. So here I go. I noticed that literacy was still missing one person and I was thinking, that after my week of feeling very left out of the ENG480 club, as i never have time to peruse other's weblogs OR the WIKI. Actually the WIKI scares me as I still cannot really figure out what to make of it. This feeling has led me to think that I am destined to do literacy as it is something I hope to become in terms of this damn class. So, I started thinking, and reading everyone's old blogs about literacy from WAY BACK WHEN earlier this semester. This is what i have to say about it...

I like Literacy because it ties a lot of the other subjects together. I mean, if you take literacy literally.. haha... then it really limits accessibility. I mean, if you can't read, then you would have a huge problem working your way around the internet. It also incorporates style a little bit. When i was a little girl I read a story on a poster at the library IN MY SCHOOL for advocating literacy, and it had a picture of a can of cooking grease with a picture of bucket of fried chicken on it and the story at the bottom told of a young woman who bought a bucket of Crisco to feed her children because she thought it was friend chicken. She couldn't read. Now, I feel as though computer literacy works very similarly to that story. Makes you sad doesn't it?? I still remember the poster VIVIDLY. Anywho.. I don't think that many people are age even consider technology literacy. I re-read some of the literacy articles and it got me thinking what about that photographer that can take pictures with the walnut thing on his head? like Bush suggests? he shouldn't put a picture of a bucket of chicken on anything BUT a bucket of chicken or it ges messy... and that links up with the standards on the level of personal responsibility and such.

Bush says, "Much needs to occur, however, between the collection of data and observations, the extraction of parallel material from the existing record, and the final insertion of new material into the general body of the common record. For mature thought there is no mechanical substitute. But creative thought and essentially repetitive thought are very different things. For the latter there are, and may be, powerful mechanical aids."

The common record could be the internet, or journal, or newpaper, or whatever... and I can see that there is indeed a process between accumulating facts and the end product, BUT... the second part about mechanical aids helping repetitive thoughts.... but not creative? Doesn't making a web-site require creativiity, ect. ect. This web-log, while sorta repetitive because I do it at least once a week, is creativity. At least a bit anyway. I understand his argument that adding was a repetitive process and now we have calculators, but i think that keeping up with technology, even when it involves a walnut on our forehead that records our every movement and takes picutes of everything we see is vital. It is the new literacy. I cannot figure out the WIKI... if I do no figure it out soon, my grades will suffer. Granted a bad grade doesn't put you out homeless and cold on the street but it is a big thing in my world, and in most of ours I would assume. So then. ... where does literacy and the internet/computer come together. How does it change writing? and how does that change effect us? What also can be done to help those who aren't so computer savy? Imagine if no one had ever taught us how to use a pencil? Whoever taught me did a poor job if, as one can tell when trying to decifer my handwriting. But, in order for pixels to replace pencils everyone has to be literate of how to use the pixels. Also, as you can see, I do not write on this as I would in an essay. My sentences are not quiet complete and I use bizarre punctuation. I do not know why I do this, it's just a type of pixel "slang" that I hav been accustomed to. I have heard arguments that say programs like instant messenger are hurting our youths ability to write. To that I compare the argument that regional dialects and slangs are not "english". I think that just because it is text book doesn't mean its not real english. What would you call it? Spanish? no....

On another note. anyone who is thinking hard about all this copyright stuff. As i was re-reading the pencils to pixels essay he compared how phone companies used to limit the use of the phone only to the subscriber, threatening to sue places like hotels and airports that allowed anyone to use the service. They didn't let up on this argument until pay phones were invented and the profits were insured. IT IS similar to the music and software copyrights. But how would you set up a pay-phone for a service like Norton's AntiVirus? I guess you could pay-per-scan?? Or for something like microsoft office, pay per excel sheet? ... anyway.. I digress...

There is still more to be thought about, and I will, only the screen is making my eyes hurt... So until tomorrow... good-bye lovely 480ers!! (short for god be with you) O, and Mr. Dilger? Will you let me know soon if this is acceptable this time so that if not I can start thinking hard about another topic. I am already thinking about metadata as i can see no one is in a hurry to scoop that topic up... just in case... haha... good night all.

Attempting the CC thing

Can someone tell me how to put that cc thing on this. As I ws reading the using technology with heart article I was also thinking about accessibility. Ecologies do take time to grow, and so do the relationships between the components. Just as accessibility takes time t0 develop. It seems to me that a lot of the problem between accessibility for handicapped people and the internet lies in the fact that it is part of a ecology and since more people than not don't have problems with accessibility then people who do are easy to look over in the whole grand scheme of the ecology. I dont know if i am making sense but I am exciteed about coming top class tomorrow. I missed on friday and am VERY UPSET about it (sorry group). This is one of the only classes I have this semseter that I actually enjoy sitting through (dont tell my other professors)... see y'all there tomorrow...

accessibility

Okay so all day I have been thinking about how awful it is that our school doesn't make accessibility on its webpages, all of them, a bigger priority and then i started thinking... I stand by the fact that in order to get things changed someone has to complain. And i don't think it's because we are all lazy but because people don't always notice a problem before it is pointed out to them. I think that since this is a state school EVERYONE should have access to our website but think of all the other times in history where things weren't changed until someone complained, and then sued. Take sexual harassment in the workplace. It took women complaining and then suing for anything to happen. OR copyright infringment. People kept downloading music until someone (musicians) complained and then the record companies sued and now it is happening less. If you think about a woman being called "babe" by her boss you think.. eww.. or an artist working hard to produce something only for it to be stolen you think.. thats not right.. just like i think it's not right about the web accesibility here at western. NOW i am not saying we should sue the school, just that we shouldn't be surprised... things in society don't change unless there is a squeaky wheel... We have seen since I have been alive HUGE progress in things like handicap parking and accessible facilities in public (and some private) places because laws were passed that required them and if you violate them you can be fined.. or sued... and the internet isn't that old of a thing, and it is always changing... just in the last few years has it become an essential part of general society. You used to be able to get by without it, and I guess you still can, my grandpa does.. but for people in our generation it would be impossible to get hired most places if you couldn't work a computer and the internet.. plus you would just be a wierdo, and so now... like parking and bathrooms.. it is an essential part of life.. so we should allow time to adapt it to be more accessible.. but still nothing will be done if no one complains... and maybe sues.. and clearly something needs to be done... .on a different point have you seen how many handicap parking places there are at our walmart here in macomb.. i have never seen them all filled up at once.. or even half at once but i am thinking that maybe there is a law about like percentage of spots or something... okay.. see ya in class on friday

wikipedia

Well for this weeks reading assignments i started with the definition and went from there. actually that is a huge lie. I had a really big test and a really big paper due monday plus a bad bad bad uti all sunday and half of today so i missed class and all i did was start with the definition, which seemed rather vague and i just now printed out the other stuff. I plan on being in class with at least something to say for wed though!! Thank god for the beu. They seem so stupid sometimes ... potent pain killers for a cough?? but they are pretty reasonably priced and very accessable esspecially when the person answering the phone is a woman and you say you have a uti!! BUT.. I do happen to think that i am glad the weather is cooling off... less allergies!! I have no good stories from this weekend as i can only remember the early morning parts. damn tailgating. Maybe all that alcohol is what made me sick!! hummm... I have very little to say as I have had a rather bad day, not that i can complain there are starving kids out there but i did loose a twenty dollar bill today and that could have bought a lot of non perishable food items or a couple paddles which is what i intended. New members mean new responsibilites as a big sis and mom which mean making paddles which i loath. Mine usually turn out good but i put so much time into them and the ones i get in return are usually so hideous i dont want to hang them on my wall. Okay.. I am done and i will talk about relevant stuff next time i promise.

about class stuff this time

Okay so I really liked the article this week, Filling Frenzy, I am obsessed with cleaning stuff off my computer!! It is older now, i got it when i graduated H.S., and she just isn't as fast as she used to be. I think it has a virus because lately it's been really slow and funny acting. But, even before that I was obsessed with deleting things. I also defragment way more than i need to. is that wierd?? I am like that in the rest of my life too. If i don't use it on a regular bases I toss it. I am the exact oposite of a pack rat and it annoys my mom to death because she keeps everything. I guess maybe once I have a family and kids and start needing things more I will learn the value of saving those plastic grocery bags but for now I don't have the space and with moving to a new house/apt/dorn every 10 months for the last 4 years hauling around a bunch of crap seems stupid. Same with the computer files. I went through before school started this year and deleted so much! Its funny to look at all the things you have saved that you don't think about it. I had all my soroity's financial information from the past like 5 years saved on my lap top. I no longer need that stuff! It's almost like a time capsul because you can look back and see where you were and how far you come. I also had a bunch of papers from freshman yr that I thought i would save in case i could re-use them. Sorry, I know thats bad but i'm lazy and it's not plagerizing if I wrote them, right? But they are so awful!! Those found themselves in the trash can. I think getting rid of unneeded items of any type is a good thing. Life is too short for clutter.

horrible weekend

Okay so, early friday morning or late thursday night, however you want to look at it my house aws broken into by a pervert!! A man with large muddy shoes either entered through my bathroom window and left through the front door or visa versa and while he was in my house he didn't steal anything! not one thing! my wallet and purse were on my bed, we have lap tops and all kinds of things to steal but nothing was taken. Instead he went from room to room walking in our rooms and in one of my roomates rooms, rachel, he like got in her bed it looks like. We had the police come and everything!! I was up sooo late that night and then i had to go stay at my sosority house because i was too scared. I havent slept there since. I didnt make it to any of my classes friday because my dad came to nail my windows on the first floor shut and instal new dead bolts because my land lord is a huge huge meany and didn't care at all about it. It was so weird though because the police made us inventory our underware drawers to see if anything was missing cause i guess perverts do that!! so strange!! BUT it gets worse! that same night my next door nieghbor who is a girl also was attacked walking home from the bar. A man slashed her arm deep with what she thinks was a knife and then kneed her in the stomach and stole her purse. Leaving her bleeding on the ground. Then one of my sisters told me about some creep that ahs been hanging out by the sig tau house on adams in a wheel chair that yells at girls who are walking alone that he is stuck and needs a push or help or something and then he jumps out of the wheel chair and tries to attack them!! What is this campus coming too? I am so freaked out to be here I have even more insentive to graduate in may and get the hell out now. Better start blogging more so i can pass this class!! haha! so all you girls in 480! be careful!! i used to always walk home from the bar alone and do stupid things like sleep with my windows open and i never thought anything of it till now! so be very careful the world is full of creepos apparently!!

nicole harbauer

blah

I really don't have anything to say today. I have not read the reading, I just printed it out and am gonna read it while my bf cooks me dinner. I can't cook so im working on keepin this one around. I had a good weekend. We set up a six lane slip-n-slide in my friends front yard and proved that forty twentysomthings are still not too old for it, but I do have a few bruises from the adventure. Funny I don't think that I got bruises from it back when I was seven, but it was worth it. There were probably 30 of our girls there and about ten pikes. OPS drove by like a zillion times. Only a few people were drinking and we didn't have loud music so they didn't have reason to stop, i think they just wanted to see all the girls in their swim suits!! I don't want the cold weather to get here at all. I am sorry to be such a bore buthaven't read but the first few linse of the reading. It is intersting though to think about back when they thought of the computer as a calculator. My grandfather still types out letters. I tried to get him to use the mouse and it freaked him out so he gave up. The whole moving your hand and it moves on the screen was too much for the poor old guy!! I laughed when I read that quote though because living in macomb I tend to think of the internt as a mall since we dont have one. I think i spend more time on here shopping for stuff to wear than anything else... okay hope you all had a good weekend too! If we slip'n slide again I'll let u know! IT IS SO MUCH FUN. we went through 3 gallons of hand soap, one bottle of dawn and two things of laundry detergent... and one thing of ky that one of the neighbor boys brought over to be funny once all that other stuff ran out but by then I was done.. ewww stupid college boys!!!.... I still haven't fully rinsed all the soap out of my hair I dont think. Okay. see you in class tomorrow. YEAY for 480!!

someone assist me please

Okay, so i wanted to make use of this thing so that i am not just a "floater" in 480 but I don't know how to like.. link?? (is that the correct word).. or in some way connect my blabbering to everyone else in the class. I am hoping that someone will read this and assist me. Also I finished my damn powerpoint thing.. i hate that program... and I have it saved.. but how do I put that on here so that you can see???.. i mean not that you really want to.. its just a summary of the article that everyone already read, but I thought that it would be a good idea. Umm.. so we are supposed to comment on the articles but I just feel lost in all that stuff. Blogging? I really don't get it. I like that idea of being able to comment right away about things that i have read to the class because sometimes i forget what i was thining before class rolls around. I really can't say that I have a comment on the stuff that we read though. I can't argue any of the points because I am not any where near informed enough or qualified... I can only take it as nonfiction and move on really. ... This system would be great for a lot of my other classes.. I am taking 5 english and one IM this semester and for something like Allisons Brit Novel class this would be great.. I can't talk enough about my opinions on that topis. Regarding this material though... how the hell do all those programming people remember the "codes" for all that stuff.. unless i had like a key, or guide like that website, I wouldn't know how to make titles, or lists or whatever, it seems as if it would be so hard to remember all those slashes and stuff since its so abstract. Also its so picky. Just a character off and it wont understand.. its not like every day language wher if i said "I hungry" rather than "I am Hungry" you would still get the idea. I wish now that i paid more attention in comp101!! haha..... OOO but I figure that most of us are english majors, or journalism i guess since its eng480 but I am sooo angry. My BF is a managment/marketing major and one of his teachers who teaches proffesional selling.. I don't know the name though spent a WHOLE CLASS PERIOD ripping on english majors!!!! about how we will never make any money and be poor ... he said we would be in our 50's and still paying rent because we won't be able to afford to own anything!!!! and how can we since we have our head up books and that isn't a "marketable" quality.. ect. ect... ASSHOLE!! I mean, i am an english major and I didn't do it because of the money.. HA no i did it because It was the only subkect in HS I really loved.. and Shakespeare just does it for me I guess.. but I was quiet offended!!! What a jerk.. specially since this college offers English as a Major.. he shouldn't say things like that.. but o well everyone can have thier opinion. I can say though that I am looking forward to that thing on monday night because I have absoloutly NO idea what i am gonna do when I grow up and I am supposed to graduate in May.. AHH.. hopefully it teaches me something "marketable"!! Okay well I am done rambling as I will see you all in class tomorrow but I probably won't talk much.
