about class stuff this time
Okay so I really liked the article this week, Filling Frenzy, I am obsessed with cleaning stuff off my computer!! It is older now, i got it when i graduated H.S., and she just isn't as fast as she used to be. I think it has a virus because lately it's been really slow and funny acting. But, even before that I was obsessed with deleting things. I also defragment way more than i need to. is that wierd?? I am like that in the rest of my life too. If i don't use it on a regular bases I toss it. I am the exact oposite of a pack rat and it annoys my mom to death because she keeps everything. I guess maybe once I have a family and kids and start needing things more I will learn the value of saving those plastic grocery bags but for now I don't have the space and with moving to a new house/apt/dorn every 10 months for the last 4 years hauling around a bunch of crap seems stupid. Same with the computer files. I went through before school started this year and deleted so much! Its funny to look at all the things you have saved that you don't think about it. I had all my soroity's financial information from the past like 5 years saved on my lap top. I no longer need that stuff! It's almost like a time capsul because you can look back and see where you were and how far you come. I also had a bunch of papers from freshman yr that I thought i would save in case i could re-use them. Sorry, I know thats bad but i'm lazy and it's not plagerizing if I wrote them, right? But they are so awful!! Those found themselves in the trash can. I think getting rid of unneeded items of any type is a good thing. Life is too short for clutter.

I have tons of stuff, boxes of papers and CDs as well, saved on the assumption that someday I might need it. But it's starting to take up more space. I need to own up to saying "bye" to a lot of it.
Of course, a stack of CDs is easier to deal with, search, file, etc. than a box of essays and notes...
I hate clutter too, but more so in real life where I know what everything means. In computer world all the files seem scary with their weird titles, and I am scared to delete them sometimes. I think that I might mess something up because I delete an important file that gives my computer its birth during start-up. In 'physical' life all I had to do was to move to a shoebox apartment and I don't want to have any clutter. My boyfriend's mom sends me stuff and I told her repeatedly that I do not have room. So I told him to nicely let her know that it is not needed (and she would have to keep stuff at her house if she kept sending it).
